“Jesus lebt, mit ihm auch ich” was written for the eurobrass Workshop in 2018. This version is adapted for brass quintet and was first performed by Quintessenz Brass in 2024.
“Joshua Fought the Battle of Jericho” is a spiritual arranged by Chris Woods for the eurobrass brass quintet tour in 2020. It is in a light gospel swing style. It is based on the 1995 version for eurobrass.
This is a lively arrangement of the favorite Christmas carol. It is filled with energy, bell tone pyramids, and even a phrase of tuba solo. It has been recorded by the Belmont Brass on Christmas ‘Round the Tree.
This composition is based on a theme by Marty McCall – a chant which says “Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” It was written for Eurobrass and performed on the 2012 tour of Germany. It begins quietly with the low brass and goes through several variations, concluding with the tune EASTER HYMN and a brilliant coda.

It has also been recorded by the King’s Brass for broadcast on “The Joy of Music” television series with organist Diane Bish (program #2301).
This King’s Brass hymn composition is in a Baroque style and features the Piccolo Trumpet.
I wrote this arrangement after hearing a performance by Roger McMurrin and the Kyiv Symphony Chorus. This is considered the national spiritual song of Ukraine and was written in the 19th century. My arrangement is done as a prayer for peace and a tribute to the people of Ukraine.

“Schönster Herr Jesu (Fairest Lord Jesus) / Stern, auf den ich schaue” is a medley of two German hymns. The arrangement was written by Chris Woods for the eurobrass brass quintet tour in 2020.
“Stern, auf den ich schaue” was the favorite hymn of eurobrass founder Julian Bandy. This version for brass quintet is based on the one written by Chris Woods in memory of Julian.
This simple and beautiful arrangement was originally written for choir by Bill Fasig, who worked with Billy Graham for over 30 years. It was arranged for brass in Bill’s memory and in thankfulness for his mentorship.
“Them Basses” is subtitled “A march in which the Basses have the melody throughout.” This arrangement for Quintessenz Brass is a nice trombone and tuba feature.

Steadfast was commissioned by Heather Mensch and the Tyler Junior College Trombone Choir. It was composed for 8-part trombone ensemble and was premiered at TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) on February 13, 2020.
